Dundee has its very own airport, even though it is limited in its resources. It is located on the southern part of the city and was opened back in 1963. The first flight however took off in the year 1966 and in years to come it made a loss in many aspects.

Even in the noughties, fate was not kind to the airport and the airport made a loss of well over two million pounds a year. However in 2007 it was taken over by the Highlands and Islands Airport LTD group. Since the take over the firm has expanded its connections, especially to places like Amsterdam and other European cities.
